Shadow - Chapter 1

It Part 1

Sunrise marked the beginning of a brand new day.Fleeting songs of merry-making of the birds filled the forest air, coursing amid the gentle whispers of the trees and under the soft green glow of the forest canopy.

Yet deep under the peaceful surface of the world, within the millions of miles of underground tunnels and cavern networks thatspread out like the webbings of a giant arachnid under the surface of the forests of Arknia, there lurked an ancient, forgotten evil. One that hungered to devour the world above. One that wished to feed so desperately.

The beast longed to be free of the dank, cramped confusing halls of its prison. Eons it had spent searching for a way out, squeezing its way into every nook and cranny it could find. It had even resorted to clawing and digging into the walls in an attempt to escape. An act it would have deemed too lowly for one such as itself just mere ages ago.

But look at it now. Time had taken its toll on the monster. Once, a long long time ago, it had been a proud, intelligent all powerful lord over the realms above.

Now here it is, soiling its hands digging against cold hard earth trying to find escape. Crawling on hands and knees picking up whatever critters it came across upon the floor to feed on. Even scraping mould off the cavern walls at times when it could not find any nourishment within these lifeless caves.

Its hunger grew with each passing day. The endless need to devour all life was what kept it going. It hungered for food...It hungered for revenge...
