The Anthill

Would you feel guilty if you flattened an anthill?

Small insignificant lives. Ones that can in no way affect our existence. Do we ever give a care for them?

Mankind lives in a world where the only thing that matters to him is whatever affects him directly and lives within his monkey-sphere.

Why should he care if a couple of ants die? Why should it matter to him if a bunch of ants lose their homes? Absolutely no reason for him to give a care at all.

Yet, when you think back on it, even ants are alive too. Aren't they? They live breath and eat.

Flash back to the times of Prophet Solomon. Gifted with the ability to speak to all of God's creations be they man, beasts or Jinns. "At length when they came to a (lowly)Valley of ants, one of the ants said,'O ye ants, get into your habitations lest Sulaiman and his hosts crush you(underfoot) without knowing it.'
So he smiled, amused at her speech: And he said,'O my Lord! So order me that I may be grateful for Thy favours, which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that will please Thee and admit me, by Thy Grace, to the ranks of Thy righteous servants.'" - Al - Quran

Even the smallest deeds of mercy shines bright in the eyes of God and the rest of His creations.

The tiniest of God's creations exist among us. They may seem but mindless drones to us, but tales of the Prophet Solomon says otherwise.

Which are we to believe? Are ants mere mechanations of organic form? Are they alive with thought and meotions?

Ever the merciful and just; Prophet Solomon spared the lives of these tiny little critters from the crushing feet of his marching army.

Would we, mere ordinary men go to such great lengths for mere ants? Or would we rather toy with them and torture their miniature lives?

So what if they suffer? Does it make a difference to us? Do we care?

Theirs may be lives that mean little to some of us. Question is, are there any lives that mean a thing to us besides our own?

Look at that ant hill. Does it make you feel sorry for God's tiniest of servants?
