Decay
With each passing day
A small part of me fades away
Ebbing with the flow of tears
Rotting in the darkness of fears
Strings of my soul tested
Muscle and bone wretched
Accosted by my own heart
Wishing now that I may depart
Mind numb and frozen
Body battered and broken
The moon harkens for home
Drawing me closer to forlorn
Gathered in an endless loop
No lower can one man stoop
Beastly tendencies threaten
Childish behavior beckons
Civilness losing its grip
Kindness' become a painful trip
Endurance wears ever thinner
Thus marks the beginnings of a soldier
